Feelings you Hide in your Heart is the first release off our latest album
Last year, we released our album Regeneration, a remastered version of all our greatest hits taken from previous compilations. Revisiting our band’s lifetime and the array of hits Devine Lie has produced over the past 18 years was a humbling experience, to say the least. Reflecting on the highs of creating music that people enjoy listening to and reminiscing on just how far we’ve come in nearly two decades was an inspiration and made me realise that ushering in a new era requires a change in our composition and sound.
For the past two years, I have been strategising ways to showcase the evolution of our sound.
The chaos around the pandemic and the subsequent decisions that world governments made in response to this really inspired me to begin writing. The resulting isolation allowed me much-needed drive and time to focus on what it is that I wanted for the bands future – which aspects of the vision I still resonated with and where I needed to make necessary changes to allow for the articulation of the evolution of our sound.
I realised that while my lyrics were still very influenced by current social issues, personal philosophies, and dreams, there was a greater sense of pain that I wanted to speak to on this album. This change is what I believe most of our listeners will notice from the offset with our first single, Feelings you Hide in Your Heart.
In addition to a change in my writing, I also felt we needed to change gear and shift into a more contemporary space. Part of this shift took shape in the inclusion of a new vocalist on Indelible Stain, and I am thrilled to announce that this album features none other than the Voice UK’s Grant Tuffs.
This 13-track compilation is, I feel, our best album yet, and I am extremely proud of the work that’s been produced. To complement the album’s release on 9 September 2022, we will also be showcasing the official music video for our first single Feelings You Hide in your Heart, on our YouTube channel. Each song’s official music video will follow suit over the coming months, and we’ll be running an exciting competition for one of these releases – so stay tuned!

While these changes bring excitement and anticipation for the rest of the album and the future sounds of Devine Lie, I hope our listeners will continue to find comfort in our songs. As you embark on this new journey with us, continue to be led by your own interpretation and emotions and find solace in knowing that you are not alone, whatever you’re feeling.
